The Argyle Police Department provides a safe method for disposing of unwanted/unneeded medications. The drug collection unit/box is available in the PD lobby, open to the public 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
*Please note: If you have a large amount of drugs/meds to dispose of, we request that you schedule an appointment for drop off. To do this, please contact the Argyle PD Property & Evidence Technician, Anna Walker, at 940-464-7254 ext. 2.
List of ACCEPTED items:
- Prescriptions/Prescription Medications
- Over-the-counter Medications
- Samples
- Prescription Patches
- Prescription Ointments
- Vitamins
- Medications for Pets
- Syringes, Needles, Sharps ***must by securely enclosed in hard plastic***
List of UNACCEPTED items:
- Thermometers
- Inhalers
- Aerosol Cans
- Medications from Businesses or Clinics
- Hydrogen Peroxide
- Syringes, Needles, Sharps
- Loose Pills or Liquids (acceptable if they are concealed in a small bag or medication bottle)
- Glass Bottles
